妊娠の早期診断は、飼料と人件費が高いため、現代の動物産業において非常に重要です。特に人工授精が普及してからは、妊娠の判定が早ければ早いほど給餌計画が早くなります。豚の妊娠を判断する一般的な方法は、観察または B モードの超音波スキャナーによるものですが、どちらも小規模または中規模の農場ではあまり経済的ではありません。
雌豚の妊娠（妊娠）期間は１１４日（３ヶ月３週間３日）。彼女は、豚が離乳した後（授乳から外された後）、約5〜7日で別の繁殖の準備が整います。したがって、21 日齢で子豚を離乳させると、分娩 (出産) 後約 26 ～ 28 日で発情 (発情期) に入ります。
豚妊娠迅速検査キットは、豚のエストロゲンマーカーに対するモノクローナル抗体の高い親和性を利用しており、その濃度と存在を簡単に識別できます。濃度が一定以上の場合、豚は妊娠し、そうでない場合は妊娠しません。交配や AI などのさらなる測定を実行する必要があります。

豚妊娠迅速検査キットの応用
このキットは、繁殖または授精後22 ～ 32 日以内に収集される豚の尿を検査するために使用されます。
- 陽性サンプルは、2 日目の検査で確認が必要です。
- テストされたホルモンの制限により、このキットは 48 ～ 62 日間の豚の妊娠を検出できません。
- このキットは、イノシシの尿サンプル検査にも適用できません。
