Le circovirus porcin (PCV) est un virus à ADN simple brin (classe II), non enveloppé d'un génome circulaire non segmenté. La capside virale est icosaédrique et mesure environ 17 nm de diamètre. Le PCV appartient à la famille des Circoviridae.
